As I was driving along the E4 in Lapland, Sweden, I spotted a Great Grey Owl perched on a telegraph wire. By the time I had turned my vehicle around the bird had moved to a nearby branch. I made some images of the owl on the branch, and as I did so the bird flew onto a road sign. With the heavy traffic speeding past, the bird seemed completely unfazed. It was clearly comfortable, and had adapted to this environment. It was a very unusual, and unexpected encounter.

I live in the UK, but I am an avid explorer and get out in my campervan along roads less travelled, aiming to photograph the wildlife I encounter amidst some of Nature's most environmentally significant and diverse places. From photographing Puffins on a remote, snowy island hundreds of miles above the arctic circle, to photographing Dalmatian Pelicans in one of Europe's premier wetlands, I aim to capture unique and captivating images that inform and inspire.
