  This photo was taken 30 minutes before the sunset in April 25 2025 when the Northern Pygmy owls are active for mating. The birds landed on the mossy tree branch one after another. They were in the open area, I was lucky enough to be on the hill crossed from the tree. No hide used, just patiently waited in the area where is known for this owl.
  Over the years, I always wanted to photograph a pair of Northern Pygmy owls together showing affection, finally I got it.
