This photograph was taken at the Mangala Jodi wetlands in India during sunset, while I was on a boat carefully observing the hunting behavior of birds. In this region, herons often prey on snakes and bullfrogs, and I was patiently waiting for the right moment. I composed the shot at low level, directly against the sun, to create a glowing golden bokeh in the background. The moment was intense—just as the snake tried to grip the bird’s neck, the Great Purple Heron responded with precision.
