Last catch of the day

Last catch of the day

  • Helyszín
    Orkney islands, Scotland
  • A fotó története

As the storm clouds gathered, and the sun started to set above a remote beach on the Orkney islands, I watched Terns dive down in the hope of one final catch before nightfall. I followed this bird with my lens, as it dived into the dark sea, and I was delighted and amazed as it reappered with a small fish in its beak. As the Tern ascended above the last golden rays, and the fish curled around its captors beak, as if in one final attempt to escape, I was able to capture the moment.

I live in the UK, but I am an avid explorer and get out in my campervan along roads less travelled, aiming to photograph the wildlife I encounter amidst some of Nature's most environmentally significant and diverse places. From photographing Puffins on a remote, snowy island hundreds of miles above the arctic circle, to photographing Dalmatian Pelicans in one of Europe's premier wetlands, I aim to capture unique and captivating images that inform and inspire.
