  • A fotó története

When thousands of seabirds return to Hornoya around mid-March for the breeding season ahead, Puffins are within their number. These iconic birds are always a fantastic subject, but especially when surrounded by fresh snow, which is likely at that time of year in the arctic. I was drawn to this bird as it preened, and with the aim of making a high key artistic image, I was afforded a wonderful opportunity when the Puffin curved its body, and buried its colourful beak deep within its plumage.

I live in the UK, but I am an avid explorer and get out in my campervan along roads less travelled, aiming to photograph the wildlife I encounter amidst some of Nature's most environmentally significant and diverse places. From photographing Puffins on a remote, snowy island hundreds of miles above the arctic circle, to photographing Dalmatian Pelicans in one of Europe's premier wetlands, I aim to capture unique and captivating images that inform and inspire.
