The eccentric

The eccentric

  • Where was the image taken?
    England
  • Story of the image

This picture was taken in Norfolk, where the tidal show is one of the most spectacular natural phenomena in the world. High tide is a critical time for these waders. Due to the rising water level, they are forced to leave their feeding areas and move to higher, safer places, where they gather in large groups. In this picture, you can clearly see how the tension between them grows and the Red Knots are spinning around, while the oystercatcher patiently waits for the low tide.

I got my first analog camera in 2001, but soon after that I switched to digital technology. After having two kids, my focus changed and I put my hobby on hold. But in 2015 I picked up my camera again and have been taking photos regularly ever since. In 2017, I started to deal more seriously with nature photography. I feel extremely lucky, as I have been able to travel to many places in the world. I managed to capture moments, such as my picture "The eccentric", which will I will remember forever.
