  In St. Augustine there is a zoo called the St. Augustine Alligator Farm. The alligators there are captive, but there are trees in the swamp in the zoo where wild birds build their nests because the nests are protected from predators such as raccoons and feral cats. I went in the spring to see the birds in their spring breeding plumage. Because it was early in the season, they were still building their nests. I captured this egret coming in with a very large stick.
