Black-browed Albatross

Black-browed Albatross

  • Where was the image taken?
    Saunders Island, Falkland Islands
  • Story of the image

I spent an evening visiting the black-browed albatross colony on Saunders island. I knew I wanted to capture an albatross against a black background so carefully watched multiple birds for an opportunity. As the sun set, I noticed an area that had been thrown into shade. I positioned myself to isolate only one albatross against the dark shaded background.

I have been a bird photographer for 12 years . I became "hooked" on birds during a trip to Tanzania. I saw a lilac breasted roller and I fell in love. Upon my return to Canada, I googled bird photography and fell into the wonderful world of my feathered friends.
