  It is late afternoon as the sun begins to set over Lake Geneva. There is a lot of activity with birds diving below the water to bring up the grasses to eat. My attention is drawn away from the activity to watch a male Pochard grab a female Pochard and try to mount her. As he tries to get on top of her he is inadvertently pushing her below the surface of the water and she struggles to keep her head above. It is frantic and quite aggressive to watch as she desperately tries to get away.
