Péter Csonka, Hungary

“For over 30 years, I've dedicated my free time to researching and actively protecting birds of prey and woodpeckers, driven by a lifelong passion for nature. Currently heading the Danube-Ipoly National Park Directorate, I'm a devoted local patriot in Komárom-Esztergom County. My photography, primarily centered in the Által-ér Valley and Gerecse Mountains, goes beyond a hobby; it's a tool for safeguarding natural values. Collaborating with friends, I organize events like the Tata Goose Festival and Bird and Tree Day, aiming to bring the beauty of everyday wonders closer to the public, complementing regular conservation efforts.”
Csonka Péter, with a motto of "Do what you don't want to" embodies commitment to nature. His outdoor work, regardless of weather, focuses on understanding bird species through fieldwork, hides, and camouflage nets for photography. An inspiration in nature preservation, Péter Csonka's dedication to research, education, and photography sets an example for us all in protecting our environment.
