Emerald jewel

Emerald jewel

  • Where was the image taken?
    Hornoya, Norway
  • Story of the image

While exploring and photographing, on the arctic island of Hornoya, I was able to get close enough to a Shag to be able to capture the stunning textures and colours of its plumage. This was a truly remarkable opportunity, and being able to see such detail right in front of me, and surrounded by such beauty, was a wonderful experience.

I live in the UK, but I am an avid explorer and get out in my campervan along roads less travelled, aiming to photograph the wildlife I encounter amidst some of Nature's most environmentally significant and diverse places. From photographing Puffins on a remote, snowy island hundreds of miles above the arctic circle, to photographing Dalmatian Pelicans in one of Europe's premier wetlands, I aim to capture unique and captivating images that inform and inspire.
